The video of Iggy reminded me of this video of Justin Bieber who wanted to attack the paparazzi due to the fact they both probably didn't want these videos online. These videos show a side of celebrities, such as Iggy Azalea, and Justin Bieber, the negative side where they attack people. When it comes to picking sides on whether who is right and who is wrong about celebrities and paparazzi, I'm on the celebrities side. Before being Celebrities, they are humans just like everyone else. From my knowledge I know that all humans including celebrities have privacy rights, and by exposing celebrities in ways they don't like, we are violating their basic human rights. The line should be drawn where the celebrity decides they don't want the paparazzi in the vicinity anymore. There is an in-between in my opinion simply because the celebrity might want this kind of attention.

The Paparazzi
Justin Bieber Paparazzi Video
After watching the video of Iggy Azalea, I understood that Iggy just wanted to go Grocery shopping without too much attention, but because she is famous she should've expected something like this to happen after all. Though she isn't at fault if she determined that it was best for her to go grocery herself, instead of having someone else do it for, then go Iggy, but the Paparazzi should've respected Iggy's wishes. Celebrities like Iggy Azalea are all role models for children and teens, so by having the paparazzi show them such a negative side of Iggy Azalea. They should've left Iggy alone, and buy her eggs.

ReplyDeleteYour concept of celebrities' rights to privacy was intriguing. I hadn't thought that celebrities would welcome this extent of invasion for the sake of the paparazzi. Though it is evident in the cases of Justin Bieber and Iggy Azalea that there are numerous celebrities who grow tiresome and enraged at the paparazzi for their invasion of privacy, I hadn't thought of those who would welcome the attention. I particularly enjoyed your comment that, "they should've left Iggy alone, and buy her eggs", because I first read it as though the paparazzi were going to buy her the eggs. I also believe that the line should be drawn when the celebrity determines that their privacy is at risk.
ReplyDeleteEven though paparazzi's job is to take photos of celebrities, it should be stopped whenever it reaches the point.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your points on how there may be both sides to the story. Although the celebrity may hate being swamped, there may be times where they crave the attention. But since celebrities are still humans, they deserve their privacy and time. I like that you included that these celebrities are role models to some people around the world.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you totally. The paparazzi has crossed the line.

ReplyDeleteI agree with your thoughts towards this subject. Although, it's the paparazzi's job to take photos for the media, there are still boundaries towards people's privacy. I like how you explained both sides of the story so the reader understands both viewpoints. There are times when paparazzi are being disruptive to the celebrities privacy but there also times when celebrities are asking for that type of media attention.
